SSC is excited to establish an SSC Youth Club during the lighter evenings of 2026. These sessions are all about building community: meeting new friends, finding potential sailing partners (crews or helms), and learning a little sailing theory along the way!
What to expect:
- The vibe: Clubhouse open 7:00pm– 8:30pm with table tennis, table football, Jenga, and cards.
- Refreshments: Soft drinks and treats available for purchase.
- Activities: From 7:30pm – 8:15pm, planned activities like land drills, rigging practice, knot tying, and fun games (including the legendary end-of-year boat race!).
- Summer specials: Fingers crossed – look out for BBQs and beach rounders!
Safety and supervision:
- Ages 10 & Under: Must be always accompanied by a responsible adult on-site.
- Ages 11–18: A responsible adult must register them upon arrival and collection (unless otherwise agreed).
- The Team: Run by Justine Rattray, Pippa Brosnan and Sarah Soffe with support from Will Carroll and Jamie Wright.
- Volunteers: We will need help and therefore will ask that every parent/carer volunteers for one evening per year to keep the club running smoothly (see WhatsApp Poll for signing up)!
Membership Benefits: To attend, children must be SSC members. You can join as a Family (so you can all sail) or the child can join as a Cadet (which requires one adult to join as an Associate Member). SSC Members enjoy:
- Access to Youth Club Nights.
- Saturday “Improver” sessions in the pool area.
- Wednesday and Sunday Sea Racing.
- Club boat rentals.
- Discounted sauna sessions for adults!
