Shiny new buoys for the juniors

Through a very generous donation from the Eric Twiname Trust, our juniors now have their own dedicated racing buoys and can join the older sailors out at sea.

Our burgeoning Youth fleet have so far had to use small green marks which readily disappear behind the waves but thanks to the Eric Twiname Trust, they now have some fantastic new buoys, which are easily visible and not to be confused with the larger buoys used by the faster fleets.

The club runs regular youth race training sessions on Saturdays throughout the summer, and along with members of the Adur Sailing Club, they are competing for a youth series run on certain Sundays and raced on a smaller inner course out at sea (using their shiny new buoys!).

For more information please contact Gareth Griffiths who is co-ordinating the group.

The Eric Twiname Trust assists in the organisation and provision of facilities which will enable and encourage young people to sail or race. For more information visit: www.erictwinametrust.org
