When and where did you learn to sail? I was 17 when I learnt to sail on the Blackwater Estuary at Maldon Essex. I Bought a Snipe, read a book and gave it a go.
What do you sail now and why? I still sail a Snipe but mainly at open meetings, enjoying the friendly gatherings. At Shoreham, I get wet in an RS800, this was to entice my daughter out of bed in sub F5 winds and get my son interested in sailing.
How long have you been a member at Shoreham and what do you like best about sailing here? I been a member for 30 years, being conveniently over my garden wall, my friends come to visit on a weekly basis.
What is your role at Shoreham SC and what made you want to do it? I’m a Trustee, just one of the many cogs required to make my main pastime happen.
What are your sailing plans this season? Hopefully over the club most weekends, sailing or race duties, if not at Snipe Opens or windsurfing.
Is there anything else you want to add? The speed of the RS800 is attractive to both children, not the dunking.
