New slipway work and boat removal

As part of the Adur Tidal Walls project, work will begin on the water frontage around the club in the next couple of months. We are in ongoing consultation with the Environment Agency, the designers and the contractors to finalise the details of our new concrete slipway, however what we do know is that the process will mean that the old one will need to be dismantled beforehand, which will mean no access to the water from the club during the winter months.

A section of the club grounds will be needed by the contractors, which will require some re-organisation of the dinghy park, and should you be in a position to store your boat at home over the winter, this would be much appreciated. We intend to use this opportunity to re-organise the dinghy park for next season, so ask that all members ensure that they have their membership stickers clearly displayed on their boats.

The area within the red lines in the photograph below, is the area that will need to be cleared and we will accommodate the boats to be moved on the lawn infront of the clubhouse and alongside it. Access to all boats within the dinghy park will be severely restricted whilst the works are taking place so should members intend to take their boats away at any point, or do not plan on rejoining next season, then we ask that you contact us as a matter of urgency, so that we can ensure your boat is in an accessible place – these will be very limited.
