Coronavirus update from the committee

The committee have taken the tough but necessary decision to close the club.

We are very grateful to all members who have paid their subs for this season as it allows us to make well-informed decisions on the clubs future and ensures our financial stability in these uncertain times. We will be in touch with those that have not renewed, and we are mindful that some members may be experiencing financial difficulties during this time.

We have many members who live alone and the sailing club is an extremely important part of their lives so please keep in contact with each other, a text or quick call, can make a big difference.

At this stage we do not know what the full impact on our sailing season will be, but we will look to reward our loyal members when we have a clearer idea.

Action taken so far;

  • We have set up a sub-committee to deal with the rapidly changing situation.
  • We have negotiated a temporary reduction in Harbour Dues from Shoreham Port.
  • The cleaning contract has been suspended.
  • We are looking for further savings wherever possible within our annual expenditure.

Please contact Sophie, Jeff or Philip should you have any questions or concerns relating to the club or your membership.

We wish all our members and their families good health and hope to resume sailing as soon as it is feasible for us to do so.
