The updated club 2025 Sailing Instructions will shortly be published to the website. Here are the main changes – please do familiarise yourself with them:
Fast, Medium & Slow fleets
The boundaries have changed for 2025:
- Fast: < 999 (eg. Phantom – RS800)
- Medium: 1000 – 1128 inclusive (RS 100 8.4 – 2000)
- Slow: 1129 & above (Byte CII – Topper)
Phantoms are now in the Fast fleet. Byte CII, Solo & ILCA 6 are now in the Slow Fleet. (Hopefully this will make all fleets more interesting with more competing for the trophies)
Sign on and sign off!
All competitors must now sign on and off. This is to help the committee adhere to our safety policy & ensure that we can account accurately for all those on the water. Penalties could range from RNLI donations, a round of drinks to those at the bar after racing, or points deducted!
- 16.1 All competitors must sign on prior to going afloat.
We have added:
- 16.2 All competitors must sign off once ashore.
- 16.3 The SSC Committee may decide to penalise helms for frequent failure to comply with 16.1 & 16.2
Club Champion (Captains Trophy)
Club Champion (Captains Trophy) will this year have the standard club discard profile (60% of races to count)
